| Maersk Resumes Port Nehru Calls |
Operations at port “stabilized” but open only for daylight navigation
Maersk Line on Friday said it resumed bookings of all cargo for direct loading via the Port of Jawaharlal Nehru (Nhava Sheva), India's busiest container gateway.
The Danish carrier was forced to temporarily suspend export bookings for nearly three weeks when operations at Nehru came to a virtual standstill following the MSC Chitra-Khalijia-3 collision in the Mumbai harbor channel Aug. 7.

| Maersk Confirms Trans-Atlantic Rate Hike |
Despite “partial rate recovery,” current market rates unsatisfactory to carrier
Maersk Line said it will go ahead with a previously announced general rate increase on all container cargoes shipped across the North Atlantic in the fourth quarter.
From October 1 shippers will pay the Danish carrier an extra $250 for a 20-foot dry container, $350 more for a 40-foot box and an additional $500 for a 40-foot reefer container for cargo moving in both directions between the U.S. and northern Europe.
